Isolation

This is about living in Switzerland during the global pandemic.

When it first started Isolation was fun
There was plenty to do, tasks to be done
Working from home, was such a boon
Spending my days always on Zoom

Hanging out with wife and kids
Shopping for food was never bliss
No toilet rolls or meat to cook
Preparing meals creativity took

The news was constantly spouting gloom
Boris got sick it was all doom
The curve it seemed would never flatten
The hatches down we continued to batten

The days began to roll together
It seemed like this would go on forever
We tried to do our best despite
Even when weekends offered little respite

Stay at home don’t go out
This became the constant shout
You help save a life when you stay at home
If you need to talk then use the phone

For sure this will come to an end
We hear that things are starting to mend
You can get a haircut a tattoo too
Buy some flowers, even fix the loo

Back to school the kids will go
Shops will open don’t you know
Wear your masks on the bus
You’ll get a seat, so that’s a plus

When we look back lest not forget
That 2020 was full of fret
Our health, our wealth, our mental soundness
Oh how happy to end the madness
