I wanted to learn a little more about server side Javascript. I had heard and read a lot about this technology but had not direct experience. These projects were designed to change this.

• Amazon Lightsail. I already had a AWS account for a few years, so the free period had long expired. Adding lightsail was a cheaper option to get started. More details here.
• Bitnami. Bitnami essentially delivers an Apache webserver with Node.js support. More details at Bitnami here.
• Express. Express appears to be the framework of choice for Node.js. Find out about Express here.
